It was time for us to get some R & R and celebrate the completion of a huge milestone: Aaron's education! On Thursday we headed down to Sunriver, OR where the sun shines 360 days a year! We had a wonderful time enjoying the sunshine and the outdoors.
***
We stayed the Sunflower Condos... they were ginormous! Ours even had a hot-tub on one of its balconies.
On Friday morning we went on a beautiful canoe ride down the Deschutes River.

Aaron did most of the paddling while I tried to keep Malia entertained.

We think she enjoyed herself at first...

... But then Malia was "done" and grew tired of being constrained by her life jacket. It was miserable! She screamed and screamed... she scared away any wildlife and destroyed the peace... it was quite embarrassing!. Of course just two minutes BEFORE we were done, she zonked out.

This was a funny parking sign we saw while there...

We tried to hit the swimming pool every day. They had this nice little kiddie pool where floaties were allowed. Malia had a lot of fun.

Aaron and I LOVED how many biking trails they had around Sunriver. We went riding every evening we stayed there. It was so peaceful!

On Saturday morning we headed to Crane Prairie Reservoir so that Aaron could go fishing. It was a spectacular view.

Afterwards we headed to Paulina Peak for a picnic, but the roads were still covered in snow. We ended up at East Lake and the sight was AMAZING! I have never seen a large lake covered over with ice like this before. It was beautiful.

There was so much snow despite the fact that it is almost June!

Doesn't this view just take your breath away?

Later that day we headed to Bend for some shopping at the Old Mill District. Malia was so intent on pushing her stroller, it was hilarious.

Malia loved playing peekaboo with her blankie, (which she grew very attached to on our trip), during car rides.

(And yes, Malia still has a binkie. We normally only give it to her at night but we REALLY wanted to enjoy our vacation. Conveniently, Malia cut three teeth on top while we were out last weekend. Imagine that...)

We were sad to leave on Monday, but it was AFTER more biking, swimming, shopping and hiking! It was such a fun trip! Any time you want to escape and see the SUN, you have GOT TO check-out SUNRIVER!
