30+ random Malia facts

FACT #1

Malia loves animals. She can spot a cat or dog from a mile away. She'll point and shout "cah! or dagh!" We took her to the zoo the other day and she loved it! We bought a 14mo. zoo pass and can't wait to take advantage of it!

FACT #2

Malia loves playing at the park. I love her squeal as she enjoys the slide!

FACT #3

Malia loves the outdoors. Its nice to know that we have an easy fix to the boredom and restlessness felt indoors. We can say "Malia, do you want to go outside?" And she'll nod up and down and run to the door. It is precious!

FACT #4

Malia is 1/4 Hawaiian and is way too adorable in a lei and slippers. She tans better than her mommy!



FACT #5

Malia has a cousin Leah who is staying here for the summer. They are 2 1/2mo. apart and look forward to playing together this summer!



FACT #6

Malia is learning how to "smell" but usually crinkles her nose and blows out. Too cute...



FACT #7

Anytime Malia hears an airplane over head she points up. She never knows exactly "where" in the sky it is, but always knows that it is "up" there somewhere!



FACT #8

Malia hates her car seat. Ever since we went to SunRiver, she thinks she needs to be entertained for the entire drive... even if it is from here to town, a total of 15min.



FACT #9

Malia loves playing with soccer balls. She is gonna be a great soccer player like her mama some day.

Malia is going to miss her auntie Laura who is going to move far far away. We love you auntie Laura! Come back to visit soon!

More random FACTS minus the pictures:

-Malia finished cutting all four of her upper teeth. Total teeth count= 6!

-Malia will be 17months soon, and still weighs only 20lbs... barely.

-

-Malia is the pickiest eater around.

At the grocery store we grab just about everything off of the snack aisle in the hopes that she'll eat. Malia LOVES mandarin oranges, though we do NOT love to change mandarin orange diapers. Yuck! Once and awhile we can get her to eat yobaby yogurt. Sometimes she will snack on a can of mixed vegetables, but we have noticed that she will only eat the carrots (but won't eat them when I boil them fresh.) She likes to eat grapes... well... I take that back. She likes to suck the juice from the grape and then spit out the skin. She loves marshmallows and fruit snacks, however, I can't tell if she loves it more when she tries to see how many she can fit into her mouth. We try to feed Malia everything we eat, but when all else fails, Malia is pretty good about drinking strawberry flavored pediasure and V8fusion.

-Malia has been sleeping in until past 10:30am most mornings, and has been taking 3+ hour naps in the afternoon.
-

-Malia knows where her eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hair, fingers, toes and belly button are. (She tries to say "nose" and "ears".)

-

-When Malia points, she think that she must receive. Otherwise her yelling ought to send the message.

-

-Malia still needs her green blankie and pacifier to sleep. Give her these, throw her in the crib, and she will put herself right to sleep. She is so easy!

-

-When something is dropped Malia says "Uh", and forgets the "Oh!"

-

-Malia is not very cuddly, but you put her in front of the Backyardigans, Disney Playhouse or Sprout TV and she is all yours!

-

-Malia can put her "match the shape" puzzles together and is really good at putting Lego's together.

-

-Malia loves to read books but her favorite (the one that she will sit still through) is "I Love You Through and Through."

-

-When Malia hears music she will say "dance-dance" with a big smile and then will bust some moves.

-

-When the phone rings Malia questions if it is "da-da?"

-

-Malia throws herself to the ground now during tantrums... lovely. She also will yell at us while walking backwards, it is the wierdest thing.

-

-Malia's bangs are almost long enough to tuck behind her ear. She has an unbelievable amount of gorgeous brown hair.

-

-When we sing the "clean-up" song, Malia will pick up her toys, specifically, the magnets she tears off the fridge.

-

-When Malia hears or sees something new she says "whas that?" in a hoarse whisper.

-

-Malia will never touch our stereo system again after Daddy turned the music to the loudest setting, which startled Malia when she turned the radio on... naughty girl.

-

-Malia has broken two glass dishes so far in her life. Both were small glass bowls.

-

-Malia can say, and know the word "banana".

-

-Malia blows on her food if she thinks it is too hot before eating. She also blows air if we utter the word "hot", no matter the context.

-

-Nana has more toys for Malia then her mommy and daddy do.

-

-To date, Malia has had four bad falls resulting in two bruised cheek bones and two roughed up knees.

-

-The only baby sign language that has stuck is the sign for more.

-

-Malia is a bit of the bullying type. She'll walk right up to your kids and give 'em a nice hard shove. She just needs another child like herself to put her in her place.

I could sit here all day creating a "random facts" list! It is so hard to keep track of all the things Malia is up to these days as she is growing-up WAY TOO FAST! She brings so much happiness and joy to our lives; every day is a new adventure. We LOVE being her parents!
