I think we've done all the camping we can do until baby sister arrives! We went camping along the river with our good friends/neighbors this weekend and had beautiful weather! The kids had fun riding the boats, playing in the sand, swimming in their floats, and inner-tubing (and yes, I hopped on that thing again hoping for a baby!... but no such luck...) The only DOWN part to our camping adventure were the darn mosquitoes! It was enough to make us wait for anymore camping at our usual spot till next summer. Our next camping trip will have to be somewhere where we don't get eaten alive again. Here in Ridgefield the mosquitoes seem extra bad since the city doesn't spray with the Wildlife Refuge nearby. We all got so many mosquito bites despite all types of repellent, the tiki torches (which didn't seem to help one bit), and the campfire. At one point I counted 25 bites on poor little Malia. What really sucks is that Malia took after her daddy and they both swell like none other with every bite. Thankfully we made a great purchase earlier in the year and bought this canopy and lifesaver of a mosquito net. We literally 'quarantined' ourselves from everyone else. Thankfully the mosquitoes were only bad during the late evening and early morning and left us alone to enjoy the beautiful day!

You really couldn't take it personally when you got whacked... we all were trying to protect each other! Even Malia tried to help "clap" away the "bugs".
