18mo. and counting...

21lbs 11oz.
31.5 inches long

Malia is such a hoot, and has quite the personality. There is never a lack of excitement with this little girl around. We love her so much!

Malia is always doing something new...

  • She can spoon feed herself without making too big of a mess.
  • She loves climbing on things and balancing in precarious situations.
  • She can throw herself on the floor and throw one heck of a good tantrum.
  • She recognizes when we are driving on the road to my parents and will actually say "nana?" or "papa?".
  • She is AFRAID of bees. She has been stung twice... poor thing. Every time she sees one she runs away with lightning speed yelling "bug, bug!"
  • She is constantly babbling all sorts of nonsense sentences, but every now and then says a 'real' word. Her uncle taught her that water was "wagua". Here are the words that she knows off of the top of my head: nose, ear, ball, bug, fish, dog, cat, bird, uh-oh, ow, bonk, mom, dad, nana, papa, Malia, yes (yeah), no, banana, more, book, Louie (her stuffed penguin), up, shoes, whoa!, night-night, bye... there are plenty more, but it is hard to think of on the spot
  • She knows the signs for more, please, all done, air plane, hot, flower, thank you, shhh
  • She loves talking on the phone (pretend)
  • She can self-entertain for hours
  • She still takes a 3+ hour nap AFTER sleeping 12 hours during the night
  • Malia is pre-potty training. Every morning she wakes with a dry diaper and we set her on her potty. So far she has successfully peed IN the potty on four occasions.
  • She knows where her eyes, ears, mouth, nose, tongue, teeth, head, hair, shoulder, knees, toes, chin, bottom, and bellybutton are
  • She'll bring food from the pantry and sign "please"
  • When she is bored she picks her nose, sometimes for a good 10minutes
  • She loves wearing daddy's hats
  • She has quite the arm, and will most likely be playing softball someday
  • She can drink from a water bottle or cup like a big girl
  • She'll hit or pinch you and say "ow!"
  • She knows when she is being naughty, and flashes a mischievous smile hoping to get out of trouble

Well, that's all I have time for... someone is throwing a tantrum... its a good thing she is soooo CUTE!
