My mom moved out to New York to live with her sister who's house is just incredibly amazing! (Thus we have deemed it ‘the resort and spa.’) After a long weekend of adventures getting here (see previous blog posts) we woke up Monday morning and first things first, we headed out to the pool! Malia has become quite the water baby and ended our trip learning how to hold her breath and jump into the water.
Monday afternoon Aaron’s brother from Virginia made the 5-hour trip to see us. We had so much fun with them; we hadn’t seen them in 2 1/2 years! They too stayed with us at the resort and graciously spent two nights with us.
Aaron, Mike and Jay had fun dirt biking and 4-wheeling.
Nana helped watch the kids so that we could all go swimming.
We visited the grave of Mark Twain.
This was the first time Malia and Carmen were both old enough to really interact. They were so cute together!
We went on a beautiful hike in Watkins Glen. Song kept saying that this was the most beautiful thing she had seen on this other side of the country. It really was incredible. Since we wanted to keep it low key with so many kiddos we parked a vehicle on either end of the trail and while waiting for everyone to gather we played at the park.
Good pick Nana… out of all the hiking we have done, this is THE BEST waterfall hike we have EVER done!
See Mom? Proof of Aaron’s excitement over our visit. ![]()
Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Mike, Song and their beautiful family. We enjoyed their company so much!
Even Allie was sad to see them go!
