Columbia River at Flood Stages

Our seventh bike ride took place along the Salmon Creek trail again. We haven’t had a chance to ride any Portland trails yet so are back into the ‘Washington trails rotation’. We had plans to begin on the opposite end from Klineline so that we could stop for a dip in the nasty water and some park time 1/2 way through. But… we didn’t make it very far, most of the trail was washed out and to deep to forge through.

The Columbia River is at flood stages due to snow run-off and it is affecting all of the smaller rivers too. Bummer… So instead of a nice bike ride, we spent the beautiful morning basking in the sun.

Allie LOVES playing in the grass!

Poor poor Allie. I was just noticing that I haven’t taken her ‘monthly’ pictures to measure her growth. Allie is 10 1/2 months now, and is such a busy, BUSY girl! She does her army crawl thing and gets into everything. If we yell at her “NO!” when touching something she shouldn’t, she laughs and moves even faster to the object! Stinker. She claps, she waves, she ‘cruises’, she eats almost everything (except for dairy, honey & peanut butter), uses a sippy cup or straw, she only nurses morning and night, she’s wearing 12mo.-18mo. clothes and size 4 diapers. Allie is very persistent and if she doesn’t get what she wants (usually food) she lets you know! She’s quite the talker and noise maker, and love copying the sounds of the kids around her. She rocks to the sound of music, even if it is Malia singing her silly songs. She loves watching her sister play and almost always gets into her way. Malia can be heard yelling “Stop it Allie! I playing with this! It’s not your turn!” Bedtime has become a nuisance, Allie tosses and turns so much she whacks her head on the rails of her crib and loses her binkie. It takes a few tries at night to get her down, but she only wakes up one time at night for her binkie and an occasional rock back to sleep. She takes 1-2 naps per day depending on Malia’s schedule. Allie is a super easy baby, just like big sis was, and we are soooo looking forward to her walking so we can enjoy the outdoors without the worry of her crawling around, getting dirty, and eating everything! It is so hard to believe that she turns ONE next month!
